About
Inheritance Kitchen invites audiences to uncover memories trapped in time by learning the hidden history of a magical house in Five Points. Through embodied experiences, audience members will engage with three families of Japanese, Latine/Chicano, and Black lineage over separate decades as they navigate social injustices, grief, and loss while embracing inherent connections through food as a love language, childlike wonder, solidarity and resilience.
Inheritance Kitchen is an immersive, multi-sensory experience that invites you to step inside a magical house tucked away in Denver’s historic Five Points neighborhood—a place where memories live in the walls and stories are waiting to be uncovered.
As you move through the space, you’ll encounter three families—Japanese, Latine/Chicano, and Black—each living in different decades of the house’s history. Through intimate, embodied moments, you’ll witness their experiences of social injustice, grief, and loss, while also finding the beauty of connection, resilience, and love shared through food.
In this experience, food becomes more than just a meal—it’s a love language, a memory, a form of resistance. You’ll engage your senses, explore moments of childlike wonder, and reflect on the ways we carry—and pass down—our histories.
This is a fully immersive event where you’ll physically move through the space as the story unfolds around you. The experience is ADA mobility accessible, and we’re happy to work with you on any accommodations you might need—just reach out.
At its heart, Inheritance Kitchen is about uncovering what was lost—and honoring what still endures. We can’t wait to share it with you.
